Public Works machine explodes in Limassol; two injured (pictures)

Two people were injured after a Department of Public Works machine exploded on Friday morning in Limassol.

According to philenews, under conditions which are being investigated, a boiler containing painting materials, intended to be used for road marking, exploded.

The explosion happened around 11 am in Omonoias Avenue, Limassol.

Two people, one Public Works employee and a passerby suffered light injuries and were transferred to Limassol General Hospital.

Two other people were also transferred to hospital because of breathing problems.

Part of Omonoias Avenue is closed for the public.

Police and the Fire Department are currently clearing the painting materials off the road.
